Anybody do it anymore? Thinking about it. With tents, kids and a boat.

OH yes! Although got out of the tent about 9 years back and now in a 36' Travel trailer, 2 ac's, two recliners and yes, I am built for comfort. Really just following orders. I still primarly cook out side on camp stove, grills and Dutch ovens. The new pier there is awesome. Also this time of year the white bass are usuall good on small white curly tail jigs and sometimes Mepps roadrunners. I actually like the old small pier better for the white bass. On the new pier crappy fishing with Minnows just vertical jigging around the pilings. Enjoy, it is really a great park besides during popular holidays........cC

We used to go there in the late 60s or so. About the time of the name change I think. I checked it out a few years ago and it has changed some 😀. We mostly trotlined in those days. Its nive to hear kids can catch from the pier.

yeah, it was like mustang hollow or something, you can find it online....reasonable deal, look at the map and get one of the cabins down the hill by the pier....the pier is a rickety floating pier with snakes all underneath it....while the fishing was great, you had to be mindful of the water moccasins at all times...at one point, I threw down a catfish and a moccasin came up through the cracks and was trying to swallow an 18" catfish....2 feet away from me...that sucked...
so, I'm hesitant to recommend that place with the kids, but I suppose the important part is to be mindful of the snakes where ever you are at the lake....I would likely recommend either Sunrise Beach, or the State Park....
