Well, the red tide has turned for the worst down here in Port Isabel. Drove the beach front @ 10:30 am today going north from access 5, shocked, tens if not hundreds of thousands of dead fish. Lots of snook, bull reds, trout & bait fish. Dolphin Cove, the base of the jetties were trashed with really big bull reds. Another fall fishing season gone. Pray it don't move north....

Not personally, but the reports are there were lots of dead fish scattered north of the jetties. |

| Crud, I need to find some jetties further up north (assuming no red tide there either) that are at least quasi remote and reachable by truck |

That describes the Matagorda Jetties, because ain't nothing fitting that description south of Cedar Bayou (which ain't reachable, and are not even jetties!!! ).

Are the south/west jetties reachable (assuming crossing the Colorado river or by some other means)?
Specifically looking at the Jetties around the Matagorda Shipping Channel |

Just talked to Harbor Bait & Tackle in Port M and they told me that they had no reports of Red Tide at the PM jetties as of today, but it was bad down south. at South Padre Island. That is about 36 miles away. _________________ Off Shore Port Mansfield |

| I was at the Mansfield jetty on the PINS side last Wednesday and it was red tide. We stayed for a hour and left when the dog started getting sick. I don't know if it has changed |
