Howdy everyone! Been pretty busy around here with the birth of Elizabeth and Devon's graduation. My youngest brother was just commissioned and graduated Military College, meet 2nd Lieutenant Davis! He's a pretty locked in fellow, in fact, so locked on that he ASKED to stop sitting around the house and do something more "fun." Haven't gone offshore tubing since we were kids, but off we went, with my other brother in tow as well!
Today would be the day for it!
After a quick stop for some swimming, off we went!
And it was every BIT as fun as I remember!
Unable to toss his bum off the tube after 15 minutes, we found some 3rd bar swells for him!! He was doing great until him and the tube went separate directions, the boat was almost broken in half by the incoming ground swell, and he did a backwards somersault thing!!
2ND BAR EPIC GLORY!!!!
We picked him up, and he declared he hadn't had enough yet, give 'em some more!! Off we went!
And we just couldn't get him to jump off or give up!
Limited on time, we headed back in through the jetty to do some kneeboarding. The sight of Devon ride that tube through the jetties hooked up I will never forget. That kid is badarse!!! Who tubes through the jetty???!!!!
And that was a wrap. All three of us brothers haven't been together in a few years now, and I truly don't know when we'll see 2nd Lt Davis again. Par for the military, he got a letter saying he was going to be loaned out to infantry instead of going straight to JAG like he had set up. He's off to Ranger school next he said.
I couldn't be prouder. And if he can fight like he can ride a tube then we oughtta be pretty darn safe in our beds at night.
Congrats Devon, we're all very proud of you. Just to see a young man with drive, with ambition and duty to his country, and a desire to BE something just gives me hope for the future for all of us. OH-and Bill, "Bay-Fly", thanks for the motor, I put in a water pump, powerpack, and I rebuilt the carbs and did new coils too, but she's a top notch ole gal now. Thanks again, there'll be some shrimp with your name on em!
Adios everyone and be safe. _________________ Protect Padre at all costs for future generations to use and enjoy and never forget our freedoms aren't free.

Does it mean I've been working too much when I see "offshore tubing" and think about a Workover rig??
