|
|
| Got a boat on the island that sat for a few years and there is water in the tank. I can not seem to get it out on my own. I have drained as mush gas as i can with a pump and gone through a dozen fuel water separators. Is there any one around that can recycle the gas until it comes out clean? I see some stuff on the net where marine repair shops have put half dozen huge fuel water separators, off what looks like big diesel equipment, in line and recycle the gas until free of water. I am getting tiered of burning seperators and I know I am risking blowing the power head! thanks in advance. |

there has got to be a way to purge your tank clean either with air or vacuum. Where is your tank under the floor? I mean under the deck. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED.

| Put a fuel water separator with a clear bowl on the bottom so you can drain the water. You could also use some Heat fuel additive. Heat is used a lot in the northern states to remove water from fuel and gas systems to keep lines from freezing/gelling |

Its in the hull and impossible to remove. I am afraid if I put a shop vac blowing into it that the humidity will just collect more water in there. |

Used Heat already x2.
Burned through a dozen yamaha fuel water separators.
Are you referring to a Racor filter? |

You can pump most of if not all of the gas out of your tank by accessing it through the sending unit flange on the top of the tank. Your probably going to need to replace the sending unit anyway. After you pump all the gas out let the tank dry-out and vacuum out the residue.
After a boat sets for a few years there isn't anyway you can clean the gas that's in the tank. Just pump it out clean the tank and put fresh fuel in it.
