So the dealership calls me and asks if I put oil in my gas? I said no because the book clearly states that double oiling is not needed and not to put oil in my gas. So the aransas pass dealership added oil to the gas obviosly. No wonder the engine was surging and not running correctly. So they.....JAMES AT THE SPID DEALERSHIP is going to purge my tank and change the plugs and I should be good. That's why it's always good to read the instructions on anything not just boat engines. This boat has been a nightmare. I'm giving James at premier Yamaha 2 big thumbs up. The plugs are fouled up. I wish I could throw it in the trash and start all over again. I'd still get the same boat just somwhere that still believes in American craftsmanship. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

no it's a 2 stroke fuel injected. It clearly states not to put oil in the gas that the mfgs break in routine is sufficient. The old ones required double oiling. Pretty sad. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

| Glad to hear your motor issues are getting taken care of as for the American craftsmanship I know your frustration, it is getting harder and harder to find any one who takes pride in what they do. Very sad indeed. |

Good luck Stan. Know that you will have all the blisters worked out soon, and the new "Flat Bottom Gitl II ", will be hard on the fish. It is a very nice looking boat! _________________ "I do hunt and I do fish and I do not apologize to anyone that I hunt and fish." - Norman Schwarzkopf |

seem like every one I know that buys a new boat has some kind of issue no matter where the buy it .second trip in my illusion power pole hose burst due to kinking and ruin some of the new white vinyl seating Aransas fixed the issue quickly but coming back to the dock with a rope around a brand new power pole was not cool _________________ EAT,SLEEP,BREATHE,FISHING |

You dont double oil for one very important reason:
It will lean out the fuel mixture and your A/F ratio will be off. It makes the engine oil rich and fuel lean. If your plugs are pinkish or have black specs on the porcelin, thats a sign of too lean and possibly too much timing at WOT. 50:1 is all she needs. On a brand new powerhead or rebuild, take fogging oil and spray it all down the intake and spark plug holes to give the engine initial start up lubrication. |

It's all fixed they had to purge out the fuel lines and tank. The new Mgr at Premier yamaha called the Aransas store and asked why they had put oil in the tank and as usual no new anything. I think I was caught in the middle of a battle between the 2 stores and a manager change out and take over. It's all starting to come together. Thank you James at the premier Yamaha on SPID near Roy's. Shame on you folks at the Aransas pass store. You don't take your problems out on your customers. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

| All issues aside (and I know that is easy to say), I still think you have selected one of the best fishing platforms for the Laguna Madre. I've had some incredible days on your model sled - ones that would not have been possible on other configurations. Good luck, Stan and Merry Christmas. |
