Talk to people at bluff landing today and they said scientist have tested the waters around that area and there is definitely traces of the red tide. The further east you go towards the ICW the more concentrated it became. They said where they normally take out there carcasses and dump the hard heads usually are voracious. And they said that today there were no hard heads to be found. Took my friends Steve and Lauren out fishing today and all we end ed up with was four trout and one red fish. Lures worked best, and Lauren was using live shrimp and hardly caught any fish at all nevertheless any keepers.

| Yesterday evening the gulls were hovering all over the flats near pita in a very unusual manner I was afraid they were after weakened bait fish and it seems it may be the case. |

The Hogs stink. It is 8+ weeks to duck season and now the fishing will be painful....

I fished the SE end of Night Hawk this weekend (Due to NW wind) and saw a perch grasping for air. Also saw 3 floaters near the first blue cabin just west of the ICW. Nothing in regards to aerosols or irritating reactions. _________________ Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience. |

Moved as far south as Bird Island, with big reds along the shoreline. Confirmed 'moderate' levels of cells in the basin.
Never good to hear that it is in the Laguna. So much for 'super high salinity' keeping it at bay. |

That's really sad, the Laguna Madre is so important as a estuary on the Texas coast. I can say in my lifetime I've seen it at its best and now seen it after some thought they could "make it better".
Now all we need is another channel to bring more of the red death into our
bay system. Sad very sad.

Closer to shoreline on the northern part of bird little to no activity. First chain of spoils running north (east of ICW) lots of mullet. I didn't see the Reds on the shoreline and that water was high on Saturday. _________________ Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience. |
