This needs to be a new bumper sticker for all of us. Corpus Christi can be a beautiful place, but a lot of us seem to think it's OK to leave our trash, including old coolers, couches, chairs, tents, nets, trash bags, etc. wherever we deem fit. The beach cleanup needs to be extended everywhere in CC, and we all need to be stewards of getting it done. If you see someone leaving their trash, as they leave, don't hesitate to ask them to take it with them. I know, some will act like you're intruding in their private lives, but the reality is they are intruding in yours, and everyone else's. Just ask them to take it with them! |

Unfortunately you may need to be armed if you approach some of these beach goers. I think most people now are afraid to approach a stranger and tell them something like that. _________________ But you ain't got no legs Lt. Dan, I know that |

I agree. there is a huge portion of the population here that simply doesn't care.
perhaps jail time for littering would get them to care a bit. |

Well, I can't say the fear of retribution surprises me, but are we just going to let the litterers and criminals have our city and country? Why not consider not taking the next selfie and take a picture of the liter and litterer, including their license number, then report it to dontmesswithtexas.org, or CC police? Some cities are not soft on litterers, but I'm not sure how CC handles them. Anyone here know how the City of CC deals with litterers? Some of what I have seen is just plain disregard for our public land. Mind you, I realize a large part of the public present in CC at this time of year do not reside here, but that is all the more reason to be active in trying to stop the destruction of this beautiful area, or least what could be a beautiful area. I think it's called pride of ownership!
It's our town, our state, keep it clean, damn it! Here is a link for reporting:http://www.dontmesswithtexas.org/get-involved/report-a-litterer/

TOTALLY AGREE !!!
Personally, always felt, that you bring more back than you took. We will always have those that litter, but if the majority will bring back a little extra you might be pleased with what you see.
Yes, confront the offending party, but take a little extra time and pick-up

| X2! Unfortunately the guys doing the damage do not frequent sites like Corpus Fishing. It is disgusting to see the amount of trash left behind. I also try to fully clean up anything I bring, plus some extra. However, the quantity of trash is overwhelming in some areas. I am all in on anything could be done to influence other to do the same. |

| From what I have seen, a large part of the litter problem is the City's lack of enforcement. The police seem to believe it is a waste of their time to write tickets for littering. They seem to have a similar attitude for trespassing...which is why we have grass fires on the Island from pickups cutting through private property to get to a "fishing spot"...and the underside of the vehicle starts a grass fire. |

| I completely agree. The beaches are getting trashed, and I'm tired of seeing broken pop up tent carnage everywhere. This is so very frustrating to see how people treat our beaches. |

I disagree. The litter problem is caused by too manypigs out there. We need to go back to a causeway fee - and that fee could be used to hire college and high school kids to pick up what trash there would be. |

| I'd even be willing to pay a little more on beach permit if it went towards more trash pick up ... And I mean both types of trash ... |

| The ones that really leave me scratching my head are the ones who take their time to bag up their trash, then just leave the whole bag there, the only good side to this is it's easier to clean up after these fools. |

| Barfly's op is something to think about, a bumper sticker is a start. Stick it in people's faces as much as possible. Maybe a camp marker that says "Take your poo poo with you " - in a nice decent way that is not possible for me at this moment. Seriously, its a start. |
