The surf looked way better yesterday morning, and the temp was up to where it ought to be. The high tide line from overnight was littered with bleached out seagrass blades, so that means the southern current is hopefully pushing the brown slop out. Really good current in the first gut at Newport Pass Rd. Fingers crossed!

(Conditions offshore were apparently better, from some of the Deep Sea Roundup contestants, but fishing was overall slow in, but way out the marlin fishing was pretty good to great! Real blue water was said to be 80+ miles out).

hopefully it'll be clearing. I really miss fishing the surf and getting that sand between my toes.

How far out was the color change today off the beach?? Couldn't really tell in the pic, looks like a few hundred yards out.

Ellis beach is the area in front of the seawall that is north of Whitecap beach entrance and south of Packery jetties.

Green/blueish water was 500 yards off the beach around Fish Pass jetties this afternoon (sunday).

It was hardhead bonanza out there. All over your bait in seconds after it hits the water, nonstop all afternoon. An impenetrable force of slime, whiskers and spines. BE WARNED!!!! Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

Mary and I just took a ride from Bob Hall south to the sticks. As reported water was brown pretty far out. Driving was fantastic. Some people thought it was a highway were doing about 60. Saw one butterfly drum caught and one small whiting.

Yes, its true, that yucky OD green water hits a well defined color change a little ways off the beach and outside that a very nice teal green. Kingfish heaven.
We found awesome cobalt blue water about 45-50 mi. out. both Fri, and Sat. but only one small wahoo and plenty o' barracudas to show for it.
There was very little weed and has been that way for a month.

I did a Bob Hall drive by this morning and the green is a little closer. It looked like you could reach it with a long rod from the end of Bob Hall.
