|
|
| Some friends of mine and I were going to try doing some fishing at the jetties and possibly to some close rigs for the first time but BILL threw us a curve ball. So we never went. I know the rains, cold water and dirty water have messed with a few things. Just wanting to know if anyone has had any luck trying to hook up with some kings, smacks or anything else out there. Not looking for particular spots of anything, just seeing how the bite has been. We have to travel a good distance so we just really want to know if its any better or not. Thanks. |

| My concern as well. I'm coming down from the 19th ot the 30th and it concerns me that it may be wasted trip, even with the close in offshore spots. |

It's been rough offshore for two weeks, pretty solid. We had a boat limit of kings one day about three weeks ago, and we worked for them. There's plenty of menhaden around, and scattered smacks.
Easily the worst season for offshore that I've seen so far.
If you do go, pull diving lures. White/red head and pink have been producing though the fish are widely scattered. Lots of small sharks as well. _________________ I'd rather be fishing |
