flounder fishing has been good in the laguna. Catching 5-10 on a regular basis. My oldest son Cameron caught this one a few days ago. (currently runner up on star teens)

| Rat Reds and schoolie trout in packery lately. Haven't had much luck on live shrimp or lures. |

Karen Krueger kicked Skipper and my supple bums yesterday in the Upper Laguna. Tremendous amount of traffic. Bird Island was full and Billings had no place to park so we launched at Packery, hit Nighthawk and the Bird Island areas. Lots of schoolie trout but Karen got a keeper red in Nighthawk and a three pound trout near Bird. _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |

| Two keeper reds on gulps in the flats north of JFK yesterday; along with several undersized rats. Fished about two hours from 8 to 10 in the morning. Both fish were released. |

Fished 7am today till noon.
Not much action south of BIB on the King ranch side ... water was very clear near the shoreline but fogged up toward the intercoastal.
Found a small area of tiny bait fish near the old piling structures but no luck there either with any fish keep-able.
Went to the island side of the intercoastal just about the time the thunder started (11am ?) and the speck seemed to respond.
Lots of 13 to 15" trout but nothing else ... fishing with shrimp tails.
Got one 16" keeper and it has been cooked and consumed ... tasty!
Did spot a loose float with a 14" speck attached ... was able to hook the line and release the fish back to the wild.
I wonder ... would that fish have showen me where the school was wandering if i followed that float?
Water is looking better the farther south you go.
I did not go all the way to Baffin Bay.
My new Mako Pro 17 ran great except that I think it is propped wrong.
Wide open the motor will run 7000 rpm and I think the limit is 6000 on a 4 stroke 60HP merc.
I think a bigger pitch is needed ... Am I correct?

Yes, a bigger pitch should help with the high RPM's... Adios
