Malaquite is reporting 78 degrees this morning and it looks a little brown on the camera.

Spot on Tyler.

Just got back from a morning dog run and it went from super clear and warm yesterday, to brown and cool this morning. Some birds working, BUT plenty-o-hardheads seen landed north of Packery. Sad Sad

Cold water upwelling way worse than sargassum.

Worse than sargassum? I'm not sure I understand what this means for surf fishing.

Does it have much of an effect on bay fishing?

Does it have an effect on an 8-hr snapper fishing trip?

It is iffy but I am still trying to squeeze a trip in before its over -- of course my clients must know I want to go fishing because rush projects suddenly came up...

Was 25 miles offshore, water was off color green. Fishing was pretty slow (especially slow for me) on a 12 hour 10PM-10AM trip last nigh (Saturday depart/Sun return).

Yup looks like things turned over... Mad

Only affects surf fishing. It is a dead zone with the exception of hardheads and can persist for weeks shutting off our beloved summer surf trout bite.

Well, we knew those conditions wouldn't last forever. Dang. Sure was nice while it lasted though.
