Well, we launched around 7 ish I was throwing live shrimp on a Carolina rig and also with a rattling thunder on top and the wifey was throwing dead shrimp on a Carolina rig as well . Well by the time we arrive at the first reef and I anchor up my wife is already fighting what looks like to be a good fish!!! well after a pretty good fight she ended up landing a decent slot red and to make it even more exciting is the fact she landed it all by her self (tear , tear) I was so proud lol. Well then the hard heads rolled in so we decided to beach ourselves on the last little spoil island heading west. We both ended up catching 2 slot black drum within 20 mins and by that time it was dark and I notice a dark silhouette about a 100 yards away and moving fast with the wind. I look to where I thought we had beached our kayaks and of course my kayak is firmly planted on the sand but some how some way my wife's is GONE!!! Now after a couple of seconds of what the hell happened and other frantic words I take off after it. I end up reaching it just as it is floating over a reef so long story short I get oyster rash on my yak and I swear it felt like I was towing a super tanker behind me , for some reason the yak was coming in side ways!!! All and all it was very fun night spending time with my beautiful wife and enjoyed the beautiful outdoors and yes fellas she out fished me!!!

Truly a lucky guy! My wife is the best thing that's ever happened to me, but when I hooked a ten plus pound red, then gave her the rod and let her fight it, and then landed it for her and took her picture, she could barely manage a smile!!!!! Shocked

Some folks just don't get excited about fishing.......

Well, at least you did not have to swim for it.

I had just launched my jon boat at a ramp on Choke Canyon for a night of crappie fishing and pulled out to go park my pick up while my buddy tied off the boat to the dock. When I walked up, I noticed there was no boat. It was floating off about 50 yards away and receding fast. Only thing I could do was jump in and swim for it as fast as I could. Never will forget that trip. Embarassed Laughing

Nice report.
