| Camping on beach and my genarator has quit working. Does anyone know of a genarator rental place in port aransas? Thanks for the info |

Only one I know of is Butler rentals off of SPID on the access road between Ennis Joslin and Rodd Field.

speaking of generators I guess it's time to roll mine out and change the fuel, and run it for awhile. Hurricane season is just around the corner.

75% of all generators fail withing the first 24 hours (being operated in an emergency situation) after being stored. Fact published by NOAA a few years ago.

And that's why I should have 2 generators. You have to run them every now and then and put a load on them. Fresh gas new stabil and new oil. Then hope for the best.

68.5 % of all statistics online are completely made-up!! Fact published by CS (who happens to be a pretty decent statistician!!  )
Just kidding. Like IMS mentioned, Run them suckers often and use some fuel stabilizer. Sitting idle is one of the primary reasons why small engines fail. Just ask my lawn-mover over the past few seasons (but NOT the case this year!!!). |

I try to roll mine out 2 times a year change the fuel run it under a load then clean it up and put it back. My Generac is 15 years old and looks brand new. The only problem is it's getting to be on the obsolete list. So I'm planning on another in the 7000 watt range. Westinghouse , Briggs and Stratton, and Troybuilt, then Generac are all be looked at.

does Rudy's BBQ on SPID still sell e-free gasoline?
that's what I use in my Mule, 4-wheeler and mowers and saws.
lucky to have a fuel distributor up here who sells e-free...
they have to make a special trip to CC to get a tanker-load.
don't have a generator, but if I did and lived on the Coast, I'd keep it dry of fuel( carb,too) and store e-free gas in an air-tight container,refreshing the gas every month...dump the old stuff in the car...
small engines have a vented fuel system that picks up humidity from the air.. all modern automobiles are closed systems, hence not near the probs w/water..
when SHTF... put the good gas in the genset and fire that rascal up...
and like IMS sed... run it often under load..(lights, whatever)
a good excuse for a shrimp boil/fishfry

| I've taken to running all my small motors before storage with that synthetic fuel from Home Depot. Just enough to run all the ethanol out of the carbs and lines. It's working well so far, I've even done it to the main outboard. |
