Ok I have taken my kayak out a couple of times but I am limited to the area I normally wade(nueces bay causeway) I was hoping some of ya'll could tell me spots I can try out and start learning new places not asking for any honey holes just some new places I can put a hook in the water.

Sunset Lake by Indian Point Pier, around Bird Island Basin, around Pita Island, Lighthouse lakes out of Port A/Aransas Pass, behind the church on highway 361 going out to Port A...

I'm sure some others have a few other suggestions as well...

Look at the top of this page. There is a book wade fish and kayaking the gulf coast. I believe they sell the book at Roys. It has lots of good directions for launch and wade points. Also invest in a Hook and line map. You can see depths, etc.
That's how I got started and with time I just pick my spots.

I liked Wilson's cut, but stopped going there due to the high number of break-ins.

Funny that you mentioned break ins....... I was gonna say something about leaving nothing worth stealing in the vehicle as an inticement, but some folks aren't even smart enough to look through the windows first to see if it's "worth it"!!!! Embarassed The criminal element ain't known for intelligence and common sense......

Aransas Pass, Lighthouse Lakes.

https://tpwd.texas.gov/fishboat/boat/paddlingtrails/coastal/lighthouse_lakes/

One of the most beautiful places to bring a kayak in this area, and redfish like it too. If the fishing is slow, just enjoy the birds and the scenery. Very easy to get distracted chasing tails and lose sense of direction there. Parts of it can be a labyrinth of mangrove and marsh.

Few minutes from your other spots but Oso Bay has been hitting hard the past few trips for me. Very short yak trip, you can almost wade fish, out to the center of the channel with free lined shrimp or a few paddle tail lures for some serious trout.
