If ATT is the best then I suggest you check Consumer Cellular. They run on the ATT system and any ATT phone will work with them. Number 1 on consumer reports for several years in a row. Unbelievably better pricing and service than ATT. No contracts, etc. I have been with them for several years and am very satisfied.

AT&T works for me although really far down you might have to climb up a sand dune.

The Wife has free Sprint thru work and she can text but not call.

My suggestion is that if you need constant and reliable commo, pick up one of those SPOT trackers with text service or buy a sat phone.

I got tired of crummy service either on the beach or on the Laguna, so I got one of these. Good service now.

With Sprint I had service up to around the 8mm or so, and it worked fine at Yarborough Pass, then would pickup again at the jetty. I've got t-mobile now and it pretty much doesn't work anywhere. I fished with a friend at Yarborough Pass in March and he's got AT&T, he was not able to make phone calls or send texts there.

So this works? Does it give complete coverage? What model are you using?

Thank you

It works for me. the problem with the lack of service isn't the carrier but the lack of a cell tower and your phones signal strength.
I installed the UM50 in my boat. I've been very happy with it. There isn't any area on the Laguna, Backside of the Island or Land cut I cannot communicate from. Give Uniden a call and tell them what your situation is and have them recommend a unit.
