Hit the secret spot again today and did well again. Bite was a little more aggressive for some fish but still very subtle. Soft plastics in yellow/chicken did the trick. Saw some reds back in Pillow's Pocket (no idea what its actually called or if it even has a name) in about 2ft of water over mud but couldn't get close enough without spooking them. The channel was loaded with big mullet hanging along the edges and large schools of tiny minnows or fry of some sort. Once the tide started slowing down to turn the bite died completely. Back to school tomorrow. If only I could do this every day...

It's great to see a quality stringer taken by a simple, walk-in means. Reminds me of days when I'm not so wrapped up in my gear. Maybe I've just overburded myself with complication in an attempt to chase greener pastures....naw, but it shows that results don't depend upon how big of a boat or how far you go.
I fish solo many times. Then I hear people toss around names of spots that I couldn't say that I've heard before. Doesn't mean that I haven't been there - just didn't know it had a name. It would be kinda cool to get some of the old guides to share names, but that info is handed down by word of mouth, sacredly, and never published. And so shall Pillow's Pocket.
Thanks for the report. _________________ kick your shoes off and cast a line |

I'm glad to see someone knows what they are doing.
I can't even get a bite the last couple of weeks, much less catch a fish.... _________________ You have 2 choices in life: The right one or the easy one. |

You are the man, Pillow! You must be retired since you are fishing mornings during the week? |

Now that's what you call keeping your spots secret. |
