A old friend and I left the Laguna a couple of weeks ago and went back to fishing some of the old patterns, water and baits we fished 30 years ago.
The ULM seems to have really slowed. Colder weather has pushed the fish to deeper water like it has done for years.
Here is a quick picture from this morning. We've really been doing well on Mirror Lures. Fishing the "low and slow" retrieve.

Chartreuse seem to be the better color.

I was wondering this morning where you've been. Glad to see you still setting a hook. I'm fixing to leave my haunts in the laguna and look for new waters. Definitely slow even for winter. _________________

It was good to hear from you Capt.Mike now all I can think about is chicken fried steak. Nice box of trout and thanks for the tips. This morning I will dig through my stash of lures. It's been a long time since I played with a Mirrorlure. We used to fish the deep waters all the time in the winter when we lived in Fulton . Most of the harbours have good deep waters up there. The lagoon has been bare except for Drum. Some peeled dead shrimp might box some nice Drum right now. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |
