Met up with some cool fellows from the TKF forum (Blake and Matt) and we made our way out around 11:30 pm on Wednesday night. Driving was pretty good for the most part going out, just very bumpy and hit some soft spots between the 15-25 but nothing to crazy-my 2wd could handle it Smile
The problem getting down there was the kayak strap got a bit lose and I was dragging my kayak for about 1/8 of a mile, good thing there is a back wheel on the native slayer Smile. Luckily I didn't lose it, I did manage to lose half a rod and broke another rod .... PINS can be brutal if you are not prepared.

We probably didn't get to our spot till around 1 a.m. where we got to chat with Rocky and Silver who had an awesome rig setup. They had been there a couple of days and caught several sharks. Here is a pic of their rig that Blake shot in the morning.

Sunrise

We paddled out about 2 miles and all trolled ribbons for most of the day, the bite was extremely slow. We saw tons of bait balls getting smashed by smacks all day, we probably saw at least 20 pots of boiling water, but no real takers until I managed to get lucky with my first king fish. Caught this trolling ribbon on my penn 309 with 20 lb mono. I also had a pretty good bite about an hour or so later but no takers. Unfortunately, that was the highlight of our day-no other action to report. We spent most of our time trolling for kingfish.

The gang before calling it quits..

Driving back was easy, a little too easy I let my guard down and found my self spinning tires in 1-2ft of Sargasum @ around the 15. We tried to yank it with Matt's 2wd but not enough traction. Luckily we found a couple of nice folks about 1/4 mile down who were kind enough to yank me in no time. Of course that was after about 30 min of shoveling and yanking with no luck.

Overall it was a great trip! Met some awesome folks and had a chance to get my first PINS experience after all this time.
