If this is your car, sure.
I've made it to big shell in 2wd as late as this past June. That being said I was in a short wheel base RWD bronco with wide BFG's.
If you give it a shot I would suggest having someone head out with you in case you get stuck beyond cell range. |

I would have to say after reading all the input on this thread that if anyone drove a 2 wheel drive down PINS to the jetties and got stuck and lost their vehicle they would get the BOZO of the year award. Just go play the lotto. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

| Getting stuck down at Big Shell can turn into a very expensive situation. I'd say no. Why chance it? |

BTW, my reference to a FWD F150 was to a front wheel drive, not 4WD. I would have edited my earlier post, but it doesn't seem we can edit, or at least I have not learned how to. Good luck on your voyage, and I hope we don't have a new F150 reef soon. |

If you don't have 4 wheel drive you can make it sometimes. drop your tire pressure down to 28.5 PSI and bring the following:
two shovels
a sky jack
tow ropes
8 Ft 6X4
CB
Or a check book with a check made out to Big Dummy Towing Co for $5000
and buy some wife cancelling earphones with a 3 year warranty (that's about how long your gonna hear about it)
Hoggeman
PS we got a F-350 stuck at the 54MM during the Surfcats!!! It took 5 hours to build a sand wall around it to stop the high tide taken it offshore.
Then 6 more hours to dig it out and hook up a series of three 50 FT tow straps. Then work a trade with a guy who had under estimated how much gas he had to pull us out. He had to punch it three times to help the straps act like a giant sling shot. 8 red bulls later we got it out and my friend went strait home and bought a new 4 wheel drive _________________ Fin in the wind |

Wow! I read that as 8 Bull Reds later, the first time. It seemed like making the best of a bad situation.
I have a 2001 crew cab f350 4X4 and they sure are heavy. Hate to get it stuck. _________________
