My son and I made a trip to PINS Tuesday in hopes a bagging some whiting, pomps and reds for the freezer. Bait was plentiful mullet and shad. First stop around the 11mm and first bite a decent whiting for the cooler. Then the hardheads moved in and take over. Nothing besides hard head for twenty minutes. Skipjack were alWhat Is With All The Hardheadsso plentiful. Stop two more hardheads. Ten minutes later we're at stop three. Decided to target reds with live and cut mullet. Nothing but hardheads. Probably caught a dozen or so before leaving. They were however big catfish. One of the culprits even had the tail of the live mullet sticking out his mouth. Only had one bite they indicated maybe a red. Remaining moves were all pretty much the same. Turned around at the 32mm, shouted a few obscenities of proceeded to exit the beach. Ended up with 5 keeper whiting, My son even took the yak out and trolled some hard baits and ribbon fish. The hardheads loved them. My son told me the hardheads even came to the surface and attacked his ribbon fish. What the heck is going on here? Never had an experience like this before. Pissed and puzzled we left the beach on Thursday. Left with the hardheads biting. HaHa. Seriouly, does anyone know what's going on the hardheads?[img][/img]

We were down this week and noticed the same thing, even using crab flavor fish bites was instant hardhead as soon as it hit the water it seemed. We ended up using nothing but spoons and soft plastics and caught some decent fish that way leaving the hardheads alone.

All we have to do is convince the Chinese that using hardheads for medicinal purposes would improve their "performance".

Hardheads would be endangered in no time. Laughing

I have eaten many a hard head over the years. If they are a pound or larger, I find it difficult to distinguish them from a channel cat of the same size.

That's why I use lures...no hardheads.

You don't need to make a racy comment like that. How do you like if you happen to be Chinese?

You have to bear in your mind that USA is comprised of many nations and you don't live alone. Watch out your comments!

I was just thinking his comment should have been posted to wean the Chinese off of shark's fins and onto hardheads. It's no secret the Chinese believe in some odd (to non Chinese) medicinals. The poster was just trying to add to their menu. What is "offensive" about that???

The comment is definitely a little racist, but it's still funny. Lol

We are all way too sensitive when it comes to this stuff, sometimes just gotta roll with the punches and not take it personally.

Keep every one you catch. Grind 'em up and add them to your compost for the garden.

Don't walk barefoot in your garden...

WOW -- people a little thin skinned.

However, it is a known fact that certain cultures are having a devastating effect on a number of animal species all in the belief that it will cure LNS (Limp Noodle Syndrome).

So rather than have a bowl of shrak fin soup and a dose of rhino horn, I will just have a little blue pill before I go to Cheetah's or Yellow Rose or any of the other fun spots.

And Black Mike -- He is from Wound Wock.
