|
|
Hi I'm new here. Been Lurking for about a month , I want to move down there in about 8 months. I'm a plumber and am looking to move once I get my journeyman. Was wondering where is a good place to start looking for a place to live. Seen a few I like in town and flour bluff. but the crime reports and the seeing on here that it is getting worse is a draw back.
Is it that bad or are all cities like this now, I know San Antonio is bad in parts. just looking for advice on where to look. I want to live near the coast now tired of going 3 times a year. any help will be great .
Thanks in advance.
Love the site learned a few things already |

The Bluff. I've lived here for 22 years now. My job is in Ingleside and I still won't move out of the Bluff. |

In the Bluff, South of SPID. The farther from the SPID the better. |

The Bluff is the place. You can find anything you want at C.C Flour Bluff. |

I used to live in Kansas City, Mo. The population was about 30% larger than Corpus Christi. They have 150 murders a year and we have 8-12, and many of them were engaged in activities that promotes natural selection, the Brits call it Death by Misadventure.
You rarely hear a harsh word spoken here. People get complacent. I have a neighbor who rarely closes his garage door. You just can't do that, then complain that things were stolen. Also, there are a lot of trucks here carrying hundreds of dollars worth of gear. That is a tough problem to solve, but can be worked around.
One thing to watch for is high property taxes. Both north and south of Nueces county are cheaper.

You would be much better suited looking on realtor.com or Trulia. Zillow will have many houses that are already not available. I found out the hard way when i would ask my realtor about 4-8 houses and they come back and say, "that house was sold on ...!" It's quite annoying. I finally found a house on realtor and we are soon to be moving in... so good luck with zillow. _________________
