|
|
Hit the area north of JFK this morning at about 6:30 am with my buddy, his Son, Brother, and Father. Water was warm and looked a clear green in the areas that we hit. Armed with live shrimp and soft plastics we set out to hopefully find some keepers, and well we did . Started out a bit slow catching a couple of skip jack here and there on live shrimp. I switched to my favorite soft plastic and started working it nice and slow. I felt a bump and thought to myself "Flounder" I waited for a few seconds and BAM, hook was set, it was a nice 15" Flounder. Just moments later my buddy's son hooks into a nice 23" red fish with live shrimp under a popping cork. His first red fish ever and boy did it put up a fight. These guys were very excited as it was only their second time to fish the salt, being that they are from out of town. Continued fishing and my buddy's son just kept on having the luck, hooking into some dink trout, hardheads, and perch. Everyone caught something today and best of all we were able to harvest just enough to feed the five of us.

Fishing is always awesome! Catching is a bonus especially seeing someone catch their first keeper red! Thanks for the report! _________________ Great captains, the stuff of legend, are made not by what they have caught, but by what they have given back. |
