|
Fished Baffin on Saturday started fishing at 7am, caught all of these by 10:30am. I started off with a 100 live shrimp and at 8:30am I put a frozen 20 oz bottle in the live well to keep the water cool like I have done in the past and all of the shrimp died so half of these fish were caught on fresh dead under an Alameder. The trout were all caught in the first hour with the live shrimp, the sheep and Reds all hit the dead shrimp. We left about 11am when the old man couldn't take the heat anymore, the bite had slowed by then but we still were catching them about every 10 minutes or so.

Water was very poor, you could not tell what you had till it was in the net. If you dipped your rod tip it disappears before you hit the second eye hole. The wind had been calm several days prior to that day so it is severe brown tide. I believe the clear water starts around Rocky Slough from aquaintances but I never go outside the mouth. _________________ But you ain't got no legs Lt. Dan, I know that |

That is a nice quick catch. Well done!
I launched from Riveria Beach Sat and Sun. Only fished with arties though and didn't have near your luck in the muck. Did get a nice 4.5 lb trout on a skitterwalk in Laguna Salada ... on the very first cast of the trip. Camera failure and down hill from there.
You had to enjoy the sun rise and light breeze. _________________ kick your shoes off and cast a line |

We launched at Williamson's I can't remember a smoother ride back in, usually the ride westward down the Baffin channel requires a chiropractic adjustment but it was glass. I observed several waders lure fishing and didnt see any of them catch a thing. Water is horrible, i never use croakers and the effectiveness of live shrimp will end soon, this is when I usually go artificial only but this year I may just fish CC Bay and Port A in the summer. _________________ But you ain't got no legs Lt. How did I miss this report? Great job. Great pictures, great details, described the bait, described the conditions, nice sunrise to boot. Perfecto! _________________ ...if my boss ever finds this forum I'll be unemployed... |
