Hello, I've got several of my flying buddies interested in a guided trip here in Corpus Christi. I have done some general Google searching and found that there's a ton of guides in the area offering different types of fishing as well. So feeling a little overwhelmed and not sure who/where could offer a solid 1/2 day trip for us. Also curious if there's a suggested time we should book a trip in terms of what fish are in season. The last time I went on a trip (Pensacola, FL) we were 2 days out of season for Snapper - and we caught a ton of them. Would have been nice to have a freezer full!

Thanks for any advice.

Are you thinking inland, or offshore?

I've done both and had a great time. Once about 15 miles off Pensacola when we caught all the Amberjack and Snapper. Another in the Pensacola bay chasing the pelicans around to find Redfish on top. I would say the Redfish trip was more exciting to me. One thing we all agreed on is that we want to take some of our catch home.

But honestly, I don't think it matters too much. None of us really know what we're doing so we just want some action.

If you want fillets and are paying for a guide i would book a trip out of Port Aransas. When the wind is not howling i hear it is really hot fishing now. Deep Sea always has a list of good boats.

I personally know two guides who would take ya. Capt Chris Evans (361) 774-3098 (361)774-3097 and Capt Matt Stennett (361) 232-0739.
