The tail just looks too forked to be a tarpon. Some tarpon don't jump... but in 7' of water they are more apt to vs offshore. If I had to guess I'd say large jack due to the fight and tail.
Either way, we can all agree it was a nice fish! _________________

| That was a blood pumper. Yeah like said earlier you should have pulled anchor. I couldn't tell anything in the video. So what was the shape of the tail? that will tell you for sure if it was or a gar. |

That was me with the ling off the beach, caught on a sting ray. You know there has been some really weird things caught in our beloved laguna. I have seen with my own eyes a pomp, gag grouper, snook, 4ft hammer, black tip, and a Spanish caught off of cos-way. No lie _________________ Bad fisherman blame their bait, or the lack there of. |

no surprise to see one in the bay.......
so I guess RS might have hooked one.. or a tarpon.. or a big jack or a bullshark or gar?????
