Another epic trip down to the cabin a couple weeks back. Started on Wednesday after work headed down to Port Mansfield. Finally got to the boat ramp about midnight and slept there so we could get shrimp in the morning. Got up early Thursday morning, got on the water and started the journey to the landcut. About 3 miles out buzzer goes off, bad heat sensor Sad , after a phone call to my boat mechanic buddy and given instructions on what to do to make sure I wasn't burning up, unplugged the wire and good to go. Finally made it to the cabin about 11ish with 20 mph gusting to 40 mph from the south. Ran the east cut so it wasn't to bad. And so the fishing began. We were there for 4 days so we had time to put on a new roof on half of the cabin that I didn't get to do in March. Cold front blew in on Friday but that didn't bother the fish. We found some nice fat and healthy trout, CPR one that went well over 28". Found some reds, drum and even caught 1 Flounder for a Grand Slam. So ready to do it again!

Thanks for the report Manuel, glad you guys fixed the boat problem. Nothing but fun, great friends lots of eating, drinking and catching some keeper fish for the box that's what fishing is all about. Cool Pics thanks for sharing.

Thanks guys, it was an awesome trip. The bucket was the first days catch. We had to gut them and put them on ice since we still had a couple more days of fishing so I put them in the bucket to take them to the table. OH and there were buckets of beer. Since a beer run is not a easy thing when your out there you make sure and take enough.

Man....wish I still had access to a land cut cabin. Great times down there for sure and you are right about the sunsets!

It's a ways out there from Port M, but certainly didn't keep you guys from running out there for "supplies!" Good trip, looking forward to 2015.
