at least they listened about the irrational possession limit proposal...

it's probably because I threatened to throat chop someone at the scoping meeting if they passed the 5 fish limit and cut the possession limit. I'm fairly intimidating.

Here we go regulation with out documentation

Guess you didn't listen to the commission meeting, one of the commissioners quoting a letter from the Coastal Bend Guides Association stated that there was "no science behind the move" and he asked the Coastal Fisheries Representative if that was true and they presented a slide showing falling numbers for the last 3 years and they also stated the recruitment numbers have also fallen so they fully expect the gill net surveys to continue to slide downward. During the comment period the one speaker against the proposal was the spokesman for the guides association and he admitted that he wasn't aware of the science behind the move until what he saw what was presented during the meeting. FYI the final numbers on public comment were, 1820 for and 706 against the change and a bunch of the against comments were because they wanted the change state wide so they were still wanting a change. Also fyi, the commission change the original proposal and starting Sept 1, everywhere that has the 5 fish limit will now have a 10 fish possession limit. One last thing, the sunset provision states the limits will revert back to the current limits in 5 years unless the commission re approves the changes.

I will have to FOI them again because no such slide through 2012 exists in anything they produced to me. Things must have changed dramatically since they said on their website we are not overfishing....I must point out the recruitment has been down as well as fall gill nets are down in the LLM where limits have been 5 for years.

Listen, they won and that is that. I will obey the law and get ready for 5 years from now.

Ill just take two folks when I go. Most everyone I take leaves their fish with me because they know they will be eating it when I cook it. I have the freezer, the fryers, and the forks and plates. Oh and the fries. Very Happy

Kinda sucks for the owners of the bait stands. Where guides were coming in and buying 10 to 15dz croaker, they will only need half that now. BIG chunk of money out of the pocket.

I have a question relative to posesion limit. I know on the feds side with migratory game birds the possesion limit includes what you have in your freezer. Officers can, will and have gone into houses and camps write you up if you have more than the posssion limit in your fridge/freezer.

One case was thrown out as "politicly motivated" and the other went to trial. It is a long story so lets just leave it as politics in the delta The one that went to trial judge made them pay a fine and do some community service then expunged the records.

Is that a federal thing only? Or does it apply to state game laws as well.

I was discussing this very thing yesterday with noskunks. I'd be interested to know...

Hmmm, just wondering how that possession limit refers to me who LIVES in my motorhome and has a freezer??????????? Anyone???
