Up at 6AM and at launch by 7

Sun was already coming up and the winds were getting higher and higher. Paddled out to my first spot. Trolling a slashbait got my the first trout of the day. A nice fat 15". Tossed it back and kept on.

Got to the spot but it was slow after 2 undersized trout.

It was overcast and really low tide so I figured they had to be at one other spot. I fought the winds and had issues with my anchor holding. Finally got it to set and started fan casting.

First 8 casts with a rip-n-slash produced 8 keeper trout to 19.5".

The bite was insane around 9AM. I would get hit-spit...hit-spit...hit-spit... all in one cast. Only 1 in 3 trout were undersized. I picked up my anchor and started heading in after crushing 18 keepers. It was a catch and release day untiiiilll I get a call from home about fresh fish.

*sigh*

I paddle back and try to put together a limit on the back end of the bite. Things slowed down so I switched to a paddle tail and worked it quick just above the grass.

They loved it!

It took a extra hour but I managed to put together a limit for the parents. Ended the day with 28 trout and 2 drum.

Great morning on the water!

Till Next Time
Life is good...

Way to go Tino. I noticed today that I was able to retrieve faster and the bite was stronger. Good to have warm weather back.
