One question, is it worth the price?

I find that it works great and catches fish. No problems with wear and tear so far but as mentioned before you can't mix it with other lures. Its definitely worth buying a pack and see how they work for you.

I think it has something to do with mixing the different plastics. They melt?

I don't really see this doing anything different than a DOA, Just a lure of the month type of thing.

Yep, when mixed with other soft plastics they melt. I'm not trying to sell the product just giving my .02 cents. In comparison they are more flexible than DOA and have better action when twitched. When you see a shrimp pop they fold at a midpoint an make like a V shape as they dart from danger. The flex in the vudu shrimp has the same action. If your going to try new lures you would want them to be lifelike. Otherwise its just another stiff plastic lure with eyes

There's an earlier thread on this topic. I've used them only once, but they're very durable and we caught fish. I think they're better than DOA or gulp-alikes. I haven't stored them with other plastic baits, so I can't write about them melting. They're still hooked up on my rod n reel.

I think they vudu shrimp are worth their weight in gold. I've caught most bay species of fish and has been a staple on my trips lately when conditions are crumby and turns a slow day into hot action.

The kevlar mesh that allows the tail to flex is all difference between other stiff lures, it gives it that natural action of the lure. And they do last. I'd say the one I'm using right now had caught about 50 trout and two bull reds and still is in ok shape and can be used for maybe one more trip or half of a fishing trip.

Here's some of my results with vudu action:

I have had very good days with the Vudu Shrimp and as far as pricing I think it's fair, especially if you keep a few fish for the freezer. I don't mind paying the $8.00 for a fun day on the water and a couple trout fillets for dinner.

Thanks for clearing up the Kevlar in the tail thingy, I had to wonder when someone would do that. I've been thinking of it for years now and wondering when some bait manufacturer would finally add mesh of any kind to the jointed or swim tail baits.

Storm makes lots of great rigged swim baits with really flexible tails, but with no mesh, let alone really strong mesh, the tails break off from little use and one bite and they're toast.

Glad to see that someone who makes baits is getting it. The only problem is that they are using Kevlar instead of something cheaper but much more durable like plain old polyester! Must be the Gucci factor, and could be why they cost what they do! Wink
