As a crazy idea, I having been toying with making a pedal boat into a fishing machine! lol I only want to attempt this because I don't trust my girlfriend on a kayak, so this is the next best thing and I think it will be fun. Besides rod holders I'm open to all ideas. What would a fishing pedal machine be with out the input from corpus fishing?? Rod holders are a must, a trolling motor just in case, and a canopy. I would like to have a place to store my tackle.

I think what you're looking for is called a Hobie Pro Angler

Cool

I rigged one out when I was in middle school. Did the job on small lakes, not sure about the bay though. They catch wind like a mother and are loud and slow. Any chop will make tracking tough too... but it floats and if you have one, use it!

Also consider the salt water on the mechanisim that moves the plastic flippers as you peddle it. Those peddle boats are made for freshwater lakes.

^ my same experience with a peddle boat.

First we tried those cheap pelican boats and it tracked reeeealllly bad! It was very slow. Chop let water into the seat and caught a ton of wind.

Eventually I made my own little peddle boat and it was just as terrible.

Good lord those things are slow. I feel like it'd be some kind of sick torture to put someone in the bay with one, any decent distance from land.

Digging through my old photobucket accounts to try and find them. The evidence may have perished with my last phone. We used 55gallon drums to keep it floating and a old fence for a base. strapped it all together and had a makeshift wooden hobie pedal system (if you could call it that).

Used it once out at site 55 and had a blast but it took several truck to load and unload the sucker because of the amount of blue drums we used.

Good times though =)

We rescue a lot of people on those things. They take off downwind and cannot get back to their dock. Shocked
