This could be big for the back bays. If we get a little grass back then the schools of reds/drum may get thick again.

I can just imagine a prehistoric nomadic version of AcousticTennis, padding around in a dugout canou with long unkempt hair (not much a stretch lol), catching drum on some 3000 BC version of fishbites.

How did the water look ?

It didn't look too good, but it never really does way back there in the back. The north wind also had it churned up. I normally wouldn't have fished that morning, but I'm only down there about two days a month since moving to Houston. I had to give it a shot. It's Baffin and it's February!

I'm going out Saturday... Gonna launch at Williamson's and I'll post a report Sunday or Monday. Haven't been on Baffin since last June, there were too many doves around SA in the fall and got on a deer lease, haven't fished at all but I'm ready. Went to Basspro yesterday and got by new annual 19.99 Strike Kings and I'm ready for another year of Baffin back pounding !!!

I went out today from 2-5pm. Went out to the road end of where "Drum Point" used to start. I waded out about 50 yards. Real muddy bottom feet were sinking like crazy. The weather was just perfect. Clear blue skies, not a lick of wind, sun warming up my back. The water was like glass and movement everywhere. I was throwing everything I had, 3 different DOA"S, a top water rattler, some pumpkin trout killers, and a pearl/pink mirrolure shad. I did not get one single bite. I am curing if I'm doing something wrong. I am going out tomorrow also. We'll see what it holds.
