| We made it back in one piece this time, not much action though. We saw some boats bunched up at the cabins in the boat hole first thing in the morning must be a school of black drum I figured. Tried to get into Area 51 but the water is too shallow for me, started kicking up mud and I pulled back into the channel, must have been a thousand ducks in that area though.. Did some drifts along the King Ranch shoreline only one bite I think it was a perch coz the tail was missing from my bull minnow. Saw a couple schools of "OVERSIZED" red cruising in about a 1'-2' of water but I couldn't get them to even turn towards my lures. Wouldn't even look at a gulp..Headed back in I cut North down the channel where the cabins are in the boat hole instead of going all the way around. As I was coming up to the cabins I see a little v bottom boat in the middle of the channel with 2 guys fishing. So me being a dumbazz I slow down so not to disturb their fishing. As I get closer I see they a using their trolling motor, they weren't anchored up. So I hug the right side of the channel to give them some space, they continue fishing like they owned the water and they start moving to the right geting in front of me. I'm putting along maybe 3mph as I get rig up on the they motion me to go around the left side of them, WTF! They were 2 old geezers so all I could do was shake my head and as I got beside them I mashed the throttle down and turned into them and away as to thow a wake on em... I know I'm a D**KH**D.. That's what I get for slowing down in the 1st place. I said I learned my lesson the 1st time I saw a boat fishing in the middle of a channel. well I guess I didn't after all. But other than that it was a good time, geting out on the boat fishing with the kids. We can catch some fish next time.. |
