| Hit up the Packery Jetties this morning. Started off at the south jetty and saw that it was way too sporty for my dad and I as he is in a wheelchair. There was a Saturn stuck in the sand, so pulled it out to try to help out with the fishing karma. We then drove around to the North side. Got out as far as I could without getting my dad all wet. Man it is tough getting up on that jetty, they need a ramp there or something. Anyways, netted up some mullet and my dad got hooked up pretty quick. I set my pole down to help him out when my pole tries to go skiing. I jump for it and grab it while trying to help my dad land his fish. His fish came off right at the rocks. Was a small snook. My fish ended up being a massive ladyfish. Fished some more and every time we threw out a small mullet a ladyfish would smash it right away. The larger ones started getting torn up by the piggy perch. Then when I was reeling my line in I realized at the rocks that I had a fish on. Ended up being a flounder, but was only 13 1/2 inches. Ended the day a little after that. Had a good time with the skipjacks, but wish we could have gotten some reds. The water was very rough and the current was really strong as well. |

Sounds like the ladyfish are taking over everywhere.
As to getting a wheelchair out on the north jetty....If you drive in by the Packery boat ramp area, you can drive quite a ways down the channel towards the gulf. Then, leave the car in the parking lot, and you can follow the walkway to the very end of the north jetty. I believe there are even some ramps from the parking lot to the walkway. That way you don't have to try to push a chair up through the sand. |

| Hey I really appreciated that tow. After you got me out I went home, showered, picked up the wife and daughter and we drove to Port Aransas. Lots of people fishing the south jetty. We fished the surf and played in the sand. Nothing biting. Ended up going to Charlies. Lots of people fishing but none catching. Finally we took the ferry over and fished the channel on the right side of the road leading to Aransas Pass. I caught a flounder but the coolest part was us seeing a group of Dolphins feeding on the surface. They were chasing Macks and both were jumping out of the air. I swear we saw one dolphin jump a good 12 feet through the air and dive back in. We made our way back to Corpus and showering felt great. My feet are killing me. Thanks again for towing my little black Saturn out of the sand. We couldn't have had such a fun family day without your generosity. |

No worries. Glad you had a great day. Be careful of the sand out there in the dark, can be much softer than it looks. |
