Looks like they never stop. This past spring while out wade fishing with my truck in sight someone busted in my passenger side window and damaged the door frame to my truck. They caused $1100 in damage just to steal two wallets and a cellphone. They didn't even get away with the amount of money they cost me. Now I just saw a post on Craigslist where these two guys had their trucks broken into while parked between Snoopy's and Red Dot Pier. There's really nothing you can do when you're a mile away in a kayak unless you're a certified sniper with a 308 Winchester with you!!!

Rolling Eyes

When are people going to stop leaving crap in their car and start being proactive by not leaving anything in there. Some people need a little common sense. If you don't want it stolen don't leave it out in the open. How many posts like this do people need to see before they learn?

I'm pretty sure when it happened to me my buddy just left his wallet and cellphone sitting out in the open on the floorboard. And they managed to find mine that was tucked away.

Do what I do. I always take my little brother, and when I say little, I mean younger. This boy is big, there is nobody that has ever messed with us, granted I can take care of my own, but we together, we'll that's another story for another day. I have an ice chest with beer and a canopy for shade and he sits there and watches my stuff. If I get lucky and catch fish he always has fish to take home. Man I hope he never gets married.

That just made my point... Don't leave ANYTHING out in the open

Two words of advice -- Dry Bag.
I take my valuables with me on the yak.

i leave a few pairs of dirty white undies with visible racing stripes laying around the inside of my truck. never had a problem Smile but seriously, having anything visible inside is very tempting for a thief....so take valuables with you.

I have had my door locks busted out twice, so now I have glued a square piece of plastic over the lock. Costs like $500 every time they punch the lock. I now have nothing in the truck that is of any value. When I go to large parking lots, I roll the windows down. What I did do is bolt a strong box on the floor behind the drivers seat, for those things you just need to keep in the truck. So far So good
