Me and the wife just moved to the area recently. I closed my boat repair shop in the Houston area and transplanted to south texas! We love it here. I'm 5 min. From two boat ramps and smack dab in the middle of some of the best fishing in the gulf coast. I fished Galveston bay and Sabine lake area the majority of my life. The shallow flats are proving to be a learning curve to say the least, thank god for long ropes and some Good Samaritans to help me off a couple of hidden and very skinny mud banks. Anyway, we are here to stay. Like the site very much, lots of good info here and good stories. Can't wait to venture further out and find more productive spots. Look forward to sharing some fish stories with y'all.

welcome to the board! The water is really high right now too, wait until it drops and gets even skinnier.

You couldn't have picked a better time. Reds and flounder both on the move. Just left Packery jetty. Both reds and smac being caught. Kind of surprising with the crystal clear water.

Good luck and welcome!
