What are the beach driving conditions right now between Andy Bowie Park and the south jetty at the Mansifield Channel? About how long is the round trip likely to take this Friday or over the weekend, considering the spring breakers? Is there a particular exit you'd recommend I take from S.H. 100 when entering and exiting the beach?

I haven't been in a couple weeks, the driving wasn't bad at all. I usually use Access #6 but it can get pretty talcum powderish, it may have been groomed for Spring Break, I don't know.

I don't go near the island during Spring Break. I know it can take an hour or 2 just to get across the bridge sometimes. I strongly advise against this weekend. I think there are usually around 50,000 kids here during Texas Week. It's up to you but I'd put your trip off a couple weeks.

Hope this helps.

Thank's Rob, I was afraid of that, but this can't be postponed. Taking the breakers into account, what's your estimate of the time to drive from Brownsville to the PM jetties and back?

I have no idea. Normally about 4 hours I guess. Shouldn't be too tough if you go very very early while they are still passed out.
