Ain't no radar guns left. They are all tied up on SPID/Ennis Joslin/Ocean Dr.

that's pretty much exactly what they're doing....
now, I agree with everyone on the drinking and driving, yes, it needs to be kept in check....
but these rangers are attempting to turn PINS into an alcohol-free zone with zero-tolerance....the pendulum has swung just a little too far in this case....

| And I forgot to mention that if you have a BWI and you get convicted of DWI, the BWI serves to enhance the level of prosecution just like a previous DWI. So if you've had a BWI and get arrested for a DWI they are going to prosecute as a Class A misdemeanor, not as a Class B. |

They love it when 1st shift CCAD gets out. I go in at 3, and see them on west bound over the oso bridge quite often. Idk why people on base are in such a hurry to get home. The same group of genious's from the customs building ride my tail every night. |

It got in the way of my fishing 
I don't miss it because I have extra money for tackle now

I had a very interesting stop and search done by a couple of rangers a couple months ago. I've since found out what my rights are and it won't happen to me again. Not without going through the proper channels. They just couldn't fathom the fact that I don't drink. The guy didn't believe that I didn't have a piece with me and on to the search he went. The lady guarded me while I leaned against the back of the suburban... her hand never left her gun. I was finally allowed on my way without even a warning. Funny thing is I saw them down island messing with three guys at their campsite as I was headed north. I can only imagine how fast they had to go to catch up with me fifteen minutes later. Why would they even feel the need to catch up with me in the first place?
The friendly park ranger of my childhood is long gone.

everyone is guilty until proven innocent....that goes for EVERYONE on the beach....
and yup, no more friendly park ranger.....I heard a rumor that PINS is where they send ALL park rangers for training, and how they do down here determines what assignment they get afterwards, hence the breeding of SUPER RANGERS on PINS....

No, you're right. You CAN have a gun. It just can't be loaded while you're traveling. Once stopped, take it out, load it and put it wherever it is you keep it. Don't forget to unload it when you go to leave though.

As of February 22, 2010, a new federal law allows people who can legally possess firearms under applicable federal, state, and local laws, to legally possess firearms in this park. It is the responsibility of visitors to understand and comply with all applicable state, local, and federal firearms laws before entering this park. Note that firearms, even legally possessed ones, are prohibited in all Federal buildings.

So this would mean that without a CHL, it's legal to carry - loaded - in your vehicle. There are probably some loop holes around carrying on your person if you have a camp set up (without a CHL), since a case could be made that it's at least a temporary abode. Either way, if you have a CHL, it's fully recognized on federal land by federal law, according to this info. |

Yeah I'm not up for searches at all without probable cause. They can give you a sobriety test without searching. The game warden pulled me over my last trip out there at the 20, flashed my CHL and told him where the piece was... no problemo.

Correct. In TX you can carry in a vehicle without a CHL and park rules now honor state rules. Not saying you won't catch hell from a Ranger for it but that's the law/regs.
