|
|
Hey guys, I haven't posted in quite awhile... nor have I fished since last August. I only get out between 4-6 trips a year! LOL!
I'm hoping someone can point me to the best bet this weekend.... looks like I'll be going both days since the weather/bay chop looks like it'll be pretty good.
For now, my plan is to trek way down south to the Land Cut with croaker and shrimp... Anyone know of anything producing closer?
My usual haunt is the Emmord's Hole/King Ranch Shoreline area with an occasional Baffin jaunt, but I hear the water is horrible... . And I've never ventured north of the causeway, save for once or twice to the boat hole... so I don't really know my way around on the north side.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Especially since I don't make very many trips... it's good to have a little background knowledge to up my chance of success. |

I went around shamrock early this week and did pretty well. We didn't catch any huge fish, but quite a few trout, and a couple redfish. The water up there had better clarity than anything down south.
just look at google earth, and you will see those channels in shamrock are pretty easy to navigate. |

| landcut has been slow, brown water (coming back a little now though) and strong currents because of the winds. Also with the wind crossing baffin will be a beast. I'm taking the weekend off from the winds but when I go next it will probably be around Aransas. |

The Boat Hole was good to me once last week.
I did make a mistake of taking my Jon Boat out two days later in 36mph winds
I promised myself never to try that again.
There was very little bait in tbe water out there and the water wasn't to bad.
Its always hit and miss tbere for me.
We were using Gulps, Dead Shrimp, and Fish Bites.
Good Luck... _________________ "Do not call my Jeep a Car ever again " |

I would propose that qualifies as the definition of sucky!!!
In fact, that should be the entry in Wikipedia under the term "sucky".
Too bad, especially with your only making a couple of trips a year. |
