With the cooler than normal spring we have been having I feel that water temperatures will play a huge roll in the summertime fishing patterns. With the water quality not so good I hope that it will steer away the large number of weekend fisherman that are putting a lot of pressure on the bay systems. My phiolosophy has always been to put as little pressure and make as little impact on the spots I fish to reduce the overall negative results they would have on a location and would like to think that more people are or will do the same! Just felt like I had to say this and hope that your opinion is shared on this thread! Let me hear ya!

| Yes, the brown tide may encourage more fisherman to go either north of Aransas Pass/Rockport or south to S. Padre/Mansfield which could relieve some pressure on the fish in this area. I doubt, however, that anyone will cancel any of the fishing tournaments that seem to be scheduled here for every weekend. |

I'm afraid y'alls water quality issues around there is going to push more people over here to the AP area, and I don't think we need all that extra pressure on our waters. Just my thoughts... _________________ Jake |

| Wasn't it just a year or two ago that the Aransas Pass/Rockport area had water quality issues, which led to many guides and fishermen from that area coming south to fish the Laguna? |

Fishermen fish thats what we do. We go where the fish are, always have always will. That why there are so many reports that say I caught fish I am great but with no real info. When we find them we don't like telling others where they are. This just makes it harder to catch fish. Isn't that what we are here for the challenge of catching fish and the high that comes with it. _________________

Never said ME or MINE!!! The post was about possible less pressure on the corpus area fish, I just said it would probably put more pressure on the Aransas area fish. How can it make y'all happy that the fish in corpus get less pressure but pisses y'all off that someone in another area is worried about the fish in that area getting more pressure? I didn't fish inshore at all two years ago so I have no idea what the water quality was like here or where aransas people went to fish, but if it put more pressure on corpus fish I would expect corpus people to be concerned. It's not about me at all its about the fish! I would expect corpus people to come here to fish if they needed or wanted to, I don't blame them for it or want them to stop coming. But I will be concerned for the fish in this area if pressure increases substantially. I'm the least secretive fisherman out there probably. You want to know my red spots, trout spots or flounder gigging spots just come on over I'll show you, tell you or draw you a map whichever you want, but don't get your panties in a wad over me being concerned about the well being of the fish population when pressure drastically increases. _________________ Jake

Steady boys Jake H I don't think it was meant as you took it.
Anyone remember that Barge from Louisiana that came down to park and take care of clients out in Baffin about 8 years ago? _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |

Yea, TP & W sent them home for not having a permit.
so do we have to have a permit to fish north, or check with them/us/we to get some type of clearance pass so we won't catch a lot of those pecker woods fish?
I didn't hear anyone crying 3 years ago when the Rockport, Aransas Pass and Ingleside fishermen were coming down here and pounding the trout for a year when their water was bad.

TPWD has their hands full w/all the folks wanting to partake in Tx Bays... so far, I think they're doing a good job....
also it's a good thing we have a 5day workweek...
I'm also going on record as NOT a fan of tounrys, no matter what charity they represent... WAY too much every w/end.
it's probably a good thing it's really windy in the spring. _________________ the creepy uncle that scares the kids.... |

Amen brother on the Rockport, AP, Ingleside invasion. I will damn near take black colored water to keep them at home. This brown stuff is going to make it tougher but I got a feeling those who know what they are doing will maybe not do as well as the last few years but fish will be caught....you just have to get louder worms and drop them closer. _________________ Wish I Were in Baffin |
