i built mine from PVC, here are a couple of pics
the bowl is a shower drain i picked up at Lowes, removed the grate and ground out the posts for the screws, it was the most expensive piece at $9. The light is a high beam round I picked up at Autozone for around $6-$7. my only regret was using the 1 1/2" pvc for the body, made the light heavy after a few hours of holding it. i put in a lighted toggle switch in the handle so i could turn it on and off at will without having to unhook it from the battery, pvc glue it all together and lay a bead of silicon around the seams and light and your good.
I got the idea for my light from here, a good source for building a light and a rig _________________ May the holes in your net be no larger than the fish in it. ~Irish Blessing |

i have a pair of lights mounted in styrofoam that appear that they float on
the surface. never used them. would love to go with someone and learn how to use them. as a suggestion to the heavy hold after a few hours, maybe consider a mount on boat with a sliding lockable collar . seems like it should work. ideas don't always work but it may help. _________________ ccbobber |

| You can buy something similar to JDR's rig at Academy. |

wish i had a boat to mount it to. but if i had a boat, I would alter the whole design and add a couple more lights. I like wading for them, feels more like hunting than fishing, and i think i'm less likely to miss one than if i was drifting. _________________ May the holes in your net be no larger than the fish in it. ~Irish Blessing |
