Port Aransas:
9 a.m.
Water temp: 68.7 (C.C. point 68.5)
Water color: cloudy green clearing some in the 2nd gut
Waves: 3 to 4 feet and choppy
Air temp: 73
Wind: SSE 15
Bait: saw none but I know there are many shad and yellowtails out there
Birds: surprisingly few
Tide: High at 2:03, low at 8:17
Tidal coefficient: 83 to 90
My fishability rating: 6.5/10
I saw a 40+ bull red being walked in from the end of the jetty yesterday. I almost called TPW because I didn't see the tag at first. I caught a few smacks on a 1 oz. spoon despite the water being cloudy. |

| I bet those people walking with the fish were not walking very slowly |

| I fished the surf yesterday. It was rough but I did manage a box of whitings. I haven't landed a red in the surf yet this spring but I get a feeling they are close |
