I was wondering if any of you all could point out a GENERAL fishing area where I could take a kayak out and not have to fight the wind.

Wilsons Cut by Shamrock Island is a decent place to fish in a kayak if the winds are a factor.

Agree with Jellyfish, Shamrock is usually calm when the wind has kicked up. The only problem I have down there is the grass dragging the bottom of the yak. Nice place to fish though.

shamrock is good, just watch the wind for the paddle back...good luck getting out there during this spring break thing though....get there early, leave late...
