Finally after along time of searching I found the hone that I have been looking for. It's the Big John super stick ceramic knife hone from Smokey Mountain Knife works. It's a 1" dia ceramic rod and handle. It will put a scary razor edge on your blade. I used one years ago that a friend had and could not find one until I stumbled on this one. I bought it through amazon. Had a few folks check it out for themselves and they were amazed. It makes alot of difference from those 3/8 in. dia. hones. Sharpen your knife and then run it on this a few times and your knife will cut you just by looking at it. Take my word for it. IMS

Steel is my craft and my livelyhood I can talk the talk and walk the walk. However I may lie a tiny bit when it comes to fishing. Wink

I use a Norton whet stone, I have a few different ones. My combination course/fine is my favorite.

Anyone else here use a Spiderco triangle sharpmaker? It works great, but i'm not convinced they're worth the money.
