Shouldn't you be looking at the stern rather than the aft? lol.

It may be refered to the stern or the aft section which includes both port and starboard sections of the stern or aft portion of the said vessle.
One ususally heads to the aft or the foward section. However aft just fit better. One could say " that girl has a nice looking a_ _ or rear end."
