$799 million cut....that's nothing more than cutting IMS's overtime for a year.

if they would furlough those 535 morons in washington that would solve a whole lot of the problems, didn't we leave england due to this kind of crap a couple hundred years ago?? _________________ Common sense is not COMMON |

That's funny....but true. lol..... I have 28 years of service I will welcome the extra day off for fishing purposes. Plus I'm a vet. If they stiop the overtime, let go of the contractors, and the non-vets last they will save all that money plus. Govt. service was created for veterans in the beginning. Oh yeah, get rid of the unions too ...big waste of money there. Heck just get rid of the sick, lame , and lazy, and the overtime. I have jury duty today, at the tax payers expense. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

| This will probably piss-off somebody, but its the truth. Im not a vet ok, and I bust my supple bum out there every day. Alot of guys in my shop arent vets b/c they came from outside tool and die and repair machine shops. Skills that really arent taught in the military from what I see. I get tired of hearing "get rid of the non-vets". Theres alot of vets out there that sit on their supple bum and when somebody tells them something they go "well, im intitled to this job! You never served!" Sorry, but b/c you served is not a excuse to not do your job. Get rid of the Kelly AFB slackers before you cut the guys who actually work. As far as the guys who came in after nam and were used to the "good ole boy" system, that party is over folks! Alot of bad habbits are being passed down to the younger mechanics and its gonna cause another generation of slackers are CCAD. One thing ill take to my grave is a what my machine shop school shop foreman told us students one day in shop, "If I hear anyone in this facility say its "good enough", your banned from the shop for 2 weeks! Good enough is not what we do in this facility!" I have that attitude with every tool I make. |

IMS,
Did not know you were a vet. Let me take this opportunity to say thank you for your service to our country. It is the men who serve who allow us to do what we do. I personally did not but I do appreciate those who do or did. |

And that's a GREAT attitude! It can always be better. Most soldiers get out of the military such as I and used their VA bill to go to college, and finish their high school education. I admit some did not. However my college never really has helped me at the base and I graduated permanent Dean's list. But it has helped me through life and so has my service with my military bearing, core values, and work ethics, instilled in me from the first moment I stepped off that bus at my young age of 17. I also started working when I was 12 at a Phillups 66 .Thats really where my work ethics began thanks to Modesto Arizpe. That was many moons ago. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

| Two grandfathers in WW2, one purple heart, father was USAF during nam, and my brother is going 20years in Navy with 8 years to go. Going for his chief pin this year hopefully. I was the engineer mind in the family. Im really proud to do the job I do for the men and women out there fighting. Ive been watching that show Inside Combat Rescue lately and all I see is UH-60s for the USAF PJs. The UH-60 is to current armed forces as the jeep was to the guys in WW1 and 2. Its a essential piece of equipment. I get upset when I see guys blatenly not caring about the quality of their work around the base. People have forgotten that if we screw up, and it slips QC, people can DIE! I dont want that on my concious at all. Taking pride in your work seems to be dieing in this country. People just want a check to go party with on the weekends. Damn shame. |

Everyone that works at the base works in a different enviroment. I have worked in a stressful enviroment for the last 5 years. However it's been crazy for 28 total years. It's amazing what the body and mind can take. Now everyone is freaking out about the audit, and the furloughs. Sometimes I really miss busting my butt in the oil field industry. Theres times I'd rather work 7-12's than be out there at the zoo. CCAD....Corpus Christi Adult Daycare. nuff said. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |
