ST

we have one here in SA....you will be better off at Academy or Roy's or Breakaway or local shops...

Richard's is more expensive and is just like Academy, but a little bigger in the workout clothes and stuff...not much for fishing or hunting, very little camping too.

There's a Richard's within minutes of my house but I rarely go there. They do have a better selection than Academy on most things, but the prices are high like Bass Pro and their selection is not as good as Bass Pro so if Academy doesn't have it I just end up at Bass Pro usually. It's good to have another option though, competition never hurts and since yall don't have a Bass Pro down there having another option is always good. You will notice they have a lot of "up North" crap though. The one here has Walleye and Pike rigs and such. Laughing

They may try to cater more towards saltwater since thats the biggest fishing we have here. If they don't then their business ain't gonna be as good as they hoped after a year or two.

Me and the wife are going to Bass Pro on Saturday, if the the creek don't rise and all that crap. I enjoy going to the valley as Harlingen is where I grew up. I don't find the prices all that bad if I want something I'm going to get it reguardless. Too bad they aren't putting the new sporting goods store in Flourbluff. It would save me the trip to Academy when I'm in a hurry. When I go to Bass Pro it's more laid back i'm in no hurry it's a new adventure everytime. Thanks for the heads up "speck". Smile

I like the ones up here in Austin, they tend to clearance stuff for ridiculously low prices. (Rapalas for 60 cents etc) Saltwater selection is decent in softbaits such as Gulp etc. could use more hardbait selections. Fairly good on reels, line and some kayaking gear.

Lots of higher end clothing, sneakers and such.

In Corpus?

I predict they will be shoplifted into bankruptcy within a year. Sad

IMS, grew up in Harlingen. Coached there for three years, right at 30 years ago. Live on Polk St. The city has certainly grown, as has the whole valley, since then. Bass Pro is fun to drop in every now and then. Hard to,imagine that CC had a chance to get a store here. Well at least we are getting a Richard's.

We have them up here.

Overpriced and understaffed.

When you do find a clerk, you quickly realize how the store got its name.

The company quit selling "assault rifles" to appease the media.

Even went so far as to cancel orders on guns that customers had already paid for and were waiting on delivery. Refused to give them their money back. Only offered gift cards.

I'll never spend another dime in one.

It's true what yall say about the clearances. I bought some Gulp swimming mullet packets for $1.99 and Gulp shrimp for $2.99 there last fall. Also picked up all sorts of various things like Norton Sand Eel packets for $1.99 and 150 yard braid spools for like $6.

I lived at 414 e Polk for years. Also 718 e Van Buren. I know that area from one end to the other. As for the valley this weekend....well the creek rose and I have to work Saturday.
