Sorry not sure the most appropriate place to ask this but, I'm looking for advice on what you all would recommend for a concealed handgun. I am comfortable shooting but by no means a gun guru. I have a red hawk rugar and a 9 mmbut both way too big to conceal( in my opinion)

Also maybe what ammo( caliber would be most economical) if I start shooting more. Like to get a nice gun but under a 1,000 for sure. Maybe 500-700 is what I am expecting to spend.

Howdy!

I am not a gun guru by any means either. But, I held a Tristar C100 - 9mm recently and it felt great in my hands. Seemed the right size to me; not too big, not too small. Internet search shows many favorable reviews. Apparently it is a CZ-75 clone/copy, reliable and well made, and very affordable. Oh, and it holds 12 or 13 + 1.

Does anyone have any personal experience with this gun? I'm planning on getting one with my tax refund.

Look for something that feels good in your hands, something that you can shoot very well, and something that when you draw it and aim it, your sights are lined up without having to readjust your grip.

The Ruger LCP is a great concealed. It is ultra light, holds 6+1, and has an optional laser grip (GREAT for quick targeting). It feels very nice aiming.

Everyone has a different idea of what specifications a carry weapon should have, look at them all. I have a couple of carry pistols same manufacturer different cal. One is a 40 S & W and the other a 9mm

I have the Ruger LC9. Its still small enough to pocket carry in most shorts and jeans. Its a little bigger than the LCP which makes it easier for me to grip and less recoil than the LCP which allows me to get back on target quickly.
I suggest you shoot before you buy to make sure it works for you. I would be more than willing to let you shoot mine sometime. Or you can rent most guns from Modern Pawn.

yup, gonna get a ton of different answers...buying a pistol is like buying a kayak, got to try them out to see if it fits you...

Bersa Thunder Plus. 15 rounds of .380. Nice little gun. Has a thicker and longer grip for better control than the Ruger LCP.
