Is it a good time to go gigging for flounder? I have been out looking 3 different nights, and nothing. Anybody going soon, so i can tag along and get some lessons on finding them. Got gear, not the best but should work.

Thanks
Ken

The problem with Flounder gigging is people are extremely protective of their spots and rarely report on how they do, especially if they do well. This is just how it works and more so than any other type of fishing due to obvious reasons. I myself are among the poster children of fishing secrecy. I'm not going to tell you whether or not I got a limit of solid winter-time flounder two nights ago, but if I did it would spark people to hit Packery or Aransas Pass. In truth it really comes down to the fundamentals of floundering. Location, water level, temps, bait, and tides play a big role. If you can learn how these relate to the flatties than you can often get Flounder (limits) throughout the year.
