Thanks! | No I did not measure or have time to weigh the beast. In the one picture there is a 13" channel cat riding piggyback for size reference. By the time I got back to the ramp I was ready to get everything cleaned up and start our journey back to Portland. Coleto Creek is where we spent every spring break for several years. We started when my son was 9 and my daughter was younger. I'm not to good with remembering ages. I'm pretty sure we went there every year until my son was 15. I was mentioning to my daughter last year of how much fun we all had camping there. She said "What are you talking about? I dreaded that week more than anything else! I said, "I never knew." I guess I was having the time of my life! While typing this "The Cats In The Cradle" is playing on the radio. I think I will go clear my eyes in a minute. All I can say is spend time with them when they are young. Before you know it they have kids of their own. |

Here is, "Cutie Pie with her first bass in over 35 years. I remember the last time I saw her holding a bass. It was under the US 59 highway bridge where it crosses the Trinity River below the Livingston Dam. The river was really low at this time and I had discovered a large group of largemouth bass that were congregated in small pot holes along the riprap. They were easy to spot because the fishing area was pretty elevated. Well this one particular Saturday I had brought "Cutie Pie" along for some of the fun. She quickly caught a small bass on a "Beetle Spin" very similar to the one she was using on our trip to Coleto. She held it up and asked me to take it off her line. I quickly replied, "You can do it". At this time she had figured out the honeymoon was over! Well, I took off all the fish she caught on this trip and will take off any she catches in the future! |
