I use the same soft plastics I use any other time, but much slower. I also like suspending lures like mirrorlure catch 5's, or mirrolure catch2000's are also my favorite, again, worked real slow.

I concer, it's not so much the lure as the presentation (slow). Do tend to use more darker colors. Corkies are good as well as MR 51 & 52.

I've been using the Corky Devil in the winter, real slow stunned mullet type action, give it a twitch and let it float around.

X2 with all of the above recommendations. If you think you are fishing too slow, slow down some more. Personal favorite is any corky's color based on clarity.

Cordell Shifty Shiner over here in Nueces. It is a suspend bait made in the early 80's that will stay a couple feet down worked against a slow moving tide, no matter how slow you work it. The solid hookup per bite is 10 times better than a 52M Mirrolure. Favorite mirrolure in the winter is a 52MCHG. Very Happy

Corkies, they don't have to be fished slow to get results. Pauses yes, slow no

The Corky is a suspension lure. Work it VERY slow. Works very well in the cold.
